25 June 2006 - the Third Sunday after Pentecost

This week our service is scheduled for:

10am Holy Eucharist, St. John's, Ingonish
This will be a joint service of the whole parish to recognize the hard work of our two Church Schools. We will have two special guests visiting with us: The Right Reverend Sue Moxley, Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese; and Mr. Michael Janz, Diocesan Youth Coordinator.

This service will be followed by a "Family Picnic" in St. John's Hall. So come and bring your picnic lunch so that we can spend some time togther as a family and with one of our Bishops.

As alwyas, all are welcome to our services of worship.

Thanks to my old friend at yougeek.ca I have learned that my blog has been quoted by another. The author(s) of TNG/TNG has pointed others my way. I thank them for doing so, however I would like to point out that God does not take sides in issues like this. Priests do take sides but God never takes sides. I would like to think that God has a soft spot in His heart for the CBC and all of its employees. I wrote what I wrote simply to offer a thought on the bias of what was being written by the managers who were "forced" to lockout their employees. In the end I do believe that we all have choices to make in this world and we should be honest enough to stand up and say, "This is what I have chosen to do." Now if that is taking sides... Then I am taking sides. Finally, I am sure that my favourite CBC Personality, Danny Finkleman, is quite happy to be in retirement now! At least he won't have to carry a picket sign. 19 March 2006 - The Third Sunday in Lent

Services this week are scheduled for: 11am Holy Eucharist, St. Andrew's, Neil's Harbour 7pm Evening Prayer, St. John's, Ingonish Also our mid-week Eucharist during Lent is scheduled for Wednesday 22 March 2006, 10am, St. John's Ingonish. This service will be followed by the third Session of our Lenten Study Group on Liturgy. During this session we will look at the liturgies of Holy Week - beginning with Palm Sunday and Monday - Wednesday. All are welcome to attend.
