Lenten Study Group Session Five

Our final study group on the liturgies of Holy Week will be held tomorrow (Wendesday) after the 10am Holy Eucharist at St. John's Church. For those of you who are following along out there in the ether of the internet HERE are my notes. Please let me know what you think - of this session or of all the sessions.

For quick reference here are some more links to the rest of the sessions:
  1. Session One: The Early Church
  2. Session Two: The BCP and BAS
  3. Session Three: Palm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday of Holy Week
  4. Session Four: Maundy Thursday & Good Friday

I hope they may be of some use to you as you make your own journey through Holy Week toward the Cross and to better help you celebrate Easter.

  2. Good question:
When a person is ordained to Holy Orders it is appropriate to add the honorific of "The Reverend" to that person's name. So when I was ordained I became, "The Reverend M. Elliott Siteman". Deacons and Priests are given this title. A Priest who is also the Dean of a Diocese is refered to as, "The Very Reverend". A bishop is referred to as, "The Right Reverend". And an Archbishop is referred to as "The Most Reverend".

Hope this clears things up for you.
