On Sunday we celebrated the birth of our Lord's cousin, John - the great forerunner. My sermon for that day may be found by clicking HERE Your feedback is important to me.

Patronal Festival

Image
On Sunday St. Peter's celebrated it Patronal Festival. For those of you who are familiar with the calendar of the church, I know that the Festival of Peter and Paul is not until June 29th but we had to transfer this feast because we did not want to displace the Nativity of John the Baptist. Mea culpa. My sermon for that occasion can be found by clicking HERE Your feedback is important to me. Let me know what you think of this, or any of my sermons.

Out of His Mind!

This Sunday saw the readings from Proper 10b. Jesus is up to something to be sure as he stands up to the authorities of his day. The audio for my sermon this week can be found by clicking HERE At worship today we were blessed to have with us some visitors all the way from Burlington, ON. It was lovely to reconnect with folk from that part of the world. I'd really like to know what you think of this sermon, please feel free to leave me your comments.

Samuel! Samuel!

This week is the Second Sunday after Pentecost and we enter into what is known as "Ordinary Time". During this time we use the Revised Common Lectionary for our readings and those readings are referred to as the "Propers" of the day. This week is Proper 9 of Year B. Complicated I know but let us rather focus on the stories we hear. Today we hear the Call of Samuel - one of my personal favourite call stories. The sermon I offered for today can be found by clicking HERE We were also very blessed to have a visiting priest, the Reverend Canon Diran Ogundipe from Lagos, Nigeria in our midst. He and his lovely wife were on vacation in the area. One of the customs I observe is to offer the altar to any visiting priest and he accepted my offer. It was wonderful to have him preside at the Holy Mysteries.
